“For 28 years, the Northwest area of the United States has had an aviation conference and trade show that attracts over 10,000 people a year,” according Eric Ramsdell, President of the South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA).  “The SCAA wants to provide a show for aviation enthusiasts in our region”, Ramsdell said.

“The event will showcase the latest aviation products, a static display of aircraft and educational sessions”, according to Ramsdell.

“”It will be held at the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) on October 29th of this year”, said Ramsdell.  “It will be open to the public and there will be a $5 admission fee”, Ramsdell stated.  “Companies that sell aviation related products can exhibit and possibly host a educational session”, Ramsdell said.  “For more details people can call our SCAA office at 1-877-359-7222”, Ramsdell added.

“The aviation community in the Southeast is very strong and we expect a great turnout for the first annual show,” stated Joe Frasher, GMU’s Airport Director.  “If it takes off, as planned, we’d love to grow the event each year,”  said Frasher.  “GMU is within walking distance of the Carolina First Center, which is a huge conference center and in the future we would love to have the Southeast Aviation Show spill over into there,” Frasher added.

SCAA’s mission is to actively promote and encourage aviation and airport development to meet air transportation needs and assist the state in achieving economic development goals.  For more information about SCAA please visit http://www.scaaonline.com/index.html or call 1 (877) FLY-SCAA (359- 7222) or email [email protected]
