Special Services Corporation (SSC) operates aircraft on a non-scheduled air carrier certificate.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires pilots to meet Airline Transport (ATP) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) 135 commercial training standards. SSC trains pilots under the guidelines set by our FAA Approved Training Program that meets these and higher standards.
The SSC culture is structured to continually train developing pilots toward good decision making.
SSC believes that learning is an on going process and the best learning results in a culture that allows processional pilot development. This type of development process will influence and enhance good pilot judgment.
SSC incorporates scenario based training in addition to the FAA maneuver based training to the Practical Test Standards (PTS). Maneuver based training emphasis is on the mastery of individual pilot skill to maneuver the aircraft. The completion standards are set by regulations and PTS requiring the pilot to be able to fly the airplane within specific tolerances. Although, this develops motor skills, it generally contributes little to developing good pilot decision making.
SSC meets the PTS, but additionally interfaces scenario based, situation awareness, cockpit resource management, advanced automation, risk management, and operational environment based training continually toward pilot development and safety: a continued learning process.
These methods incorporated together provide and promotes an on going pilot decision making development culture.
The SSC training culture now will be extended into our new Cirrus Training Center (CTC). The SSC advanced aircraft operational experience and learning will be permeated to the CTC.
The goal is that the SSC advanced structured culture, including risk management, will set a higher safety standard for the Cirrus pilot, thus safer skies.
If you need Cirrus aircraft/pilot training, or simply would like to schedule one of our aircraft to serve your travel needs, please contact us and let us introduce you to the SSC experience.
